Adelaide Zoo (1km)

Also known as the Australian Panda home, as it’s the only place in Australia that has the Giant Panda. The best part about this zoo, like much of Adelaide’s attractions, is that it sits just on the outskirts of the city. With African lions, American alligators, Chilean flamingos and some other pretty stunning creatures, the Adelaide Zoo holds a great day of education and entertainment for all ages.

Adelaide Oval and Botanic Garden (2.4km)

Although Adelaide Oval and the Adelaide Botanic Garden are in separate locations, it is important to nod to both as wonderful riverside venues. The Adelaide Oval is home to the many football and cricket legends, some immortalised in bronze. See the Bradman Collection or a game while you’re visiting this iconic location. On the other side of the river sits the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. Serene and maze-like, the gardens will ground you and help you to appreciate the wonderful city of Adelaide.

Hahndorf (27km)

No matter your age, you are going to love the Hahndorf, the German town plopped right on Aussie soil. Hahndorf is commonly overlooked in favour of the Barossa Valley, but it has a few things going for it. It’s closer to your accommodation at the Adelaide Caravan Park for one. Hahndorf has its own wineries, strawberry farms and pubs for some great food. And lastly, it’s not far from the city – but it feels like it the middle of Australia. Talk about a getaway.

Adelaide Central Market (5km)

The Adelaide Central Market has been running for at least 140 years. Known to locals as the best location to buy fresh produce, the Adelaide Central Markets is open Tuesday to Saturday and offers more than just delicious food. Drop past the Adelaide Central Market for some coffee and baked goods, a book or two and the most amazing flowers you’ve ever laid your eyes on.

Clipsal 500 Adelaide V8 Supercar Race (seasonal)

This four-day racing carnival is a must if you happen to be in Adelaide during March. Taking place each year, the Clipsal 500 is a roaring racing event with bands and DJs, BMX stunts, speedboats, demonstrations and heaps more to offer families and friends alike. Get hold of tickets early to avoid missing out.
