What were you doing before Aspen?
Initially I had a stint as a Real Estate Agent for LJ Hooker. Once out of university I cut my teeth in the property development world with Mirvac for several years which included development of high end residential and the Sydney Olympic Village.

Following that I spent several years project managing residential and industrial construction projects for my father’s building company plus running the family civil construction business specialising in patented piling and excavation.

Immediately before Aspen, I worked for a large private builder called Buildcorp that had a small in house development team. We carried out Development Management of medium density residential units in the Sydney metro area.

What made you join Aspen?
In 2006 I actually commenced with Caversham Property before Aspen bought Caversham to help grow a development division around 2007. It was attractive given that it was a very small Sydney team at the time. There were only two of us working on some large scale development projects on the East Coast, with the backing of the Perth head office.

What do you love about Aspen?
Over the years Aspen has provided the opportunity to work across a raft of different property development sectors including; two private hospitals, medical centres, pay car parks, medium density retirement villages, low density retirement, retail fitout, land subdivision, sewer treatment plants and now, the affordable accommodation sector.

What do you do with Aspen today?
I spend time sniffing out Caravan Parks and Manufacture Home Estates to acquire and run the cycle of due diligence through to settlement.

What are your hobbies outside Aspen?
I am a husband and Dad to two young boys, Smith 3 ½ and Nash 18 months. I’m into sport and fitness and enjoy running, tennis, surfing and kite boarding. I also love rural farming with my parents.

What are Aspen’s 3 best qualities?

  • Clear direction into an emerging market of affordable accommodation
  • Small enough to allow exposure across all aspects of the sector
  • Large enough to have capacity for consolidation

What are your Aspen Aspirations?
I’d love to double our east coast portfolio!
