Get Set for the Spring School Holidays

Spring flowers are beginning to push their way through the melting Winter frost, and that means more school holidays are over the horizon. What better way to reign in the new season than a coastal getaway with the family? Tween Waters Holiday Park is the perfect place to catch some sun and keep the kids entertained, with heated and salt water pools, kids activity cabins, a water playground and splash park, and a super fun jumping pillow!

The local area surrounding the park has an abundance of family friendly activities that will get you back to your sun-loving selves, like surfing, paddle boarding and kayaking activities through Coastlife Adventures. If a cycle around the esplanade is more up your alley, Cycle N Surf have got you you covered with everything from individual to tandem bikes for hire. Don’t forget to check out the Merimbula Wharf Aquarium, which has 28 tanks filled with local and tropical sealife. Feeding hour, which is open to the public at 11:30am Monday-Friday through the school holiday period, is the perfect time to catch some action and learn a bit more about the ocean’s creatures.

fishing

If fishing and freebies sounds like a great way to kick off the school holidays, then be sure to register for the South Coast Angling and Spearfishing competition. The competition runs from Friday 29 September to Sunday 1 October, 2017 at 71 Sunpatch Parade, Tomakin, and there are $80,000 worth of prizes to be won. There are adult and kids divisions, and all kids registered will receive a goodie-bag valued at $150. To see-out the school holidays, St Peter’s Anglican College, Broulee, is hosting its annual Sky Blaze, a night filled with rides, fireworks, food, and fun! This event takes place on the last Friday of the school holidays, 13 October, 2017, and entry is free from 3:30pm-9pm. Everybody is welcome to marvel at the spectacular fireworks display, enjoy carnival rides like dodgem cars, a giant slide, and jumping castle, and eat yummy carnival fare whilst enjoying free entertainment.

The nearby Barlings Beach Holiday Park can host you and the family, where you can enjoy meals at the on-site café or laze by the 26 metre salt water pool. Get your school holiday activities planned early, and all that will be left to do is relax while the weather warms up and you wind down.
