Socceroos Qualifier plus the Dream Big Children’s Festival
The Dream Big Children’s Festival is on again this year between 18-27 May, 2017, with the huge opening event taking place on the Riverbank Footbridge on opening day. Adelaide Festival Centre is proud to once again host this event, with children, schools and families both spectating and taking part in an enormous collection of events, from singing and drama performances to art exhibitions and more. Our Socceroos take on Saudi Arabia on 8 June, 2017, in the final stage of the FIFA World Cup qualification. Drape yourself in green and gold and head down to the Adelaide Oval to support them in the second-last FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier game. Port to Port Mountain Bike Race
From Port Stephens to Newcastle, the Port to Port MTB (Mountain Bike) race takes place again this year between Thursday 25 May to Sunday 28 May, 2017. Riders of all levels are encouraged to join in and be in the running to win part of a total prize pool of $9,000. Registration is now open. Tomago Village is nearby the first leg of the ride, so set up camp to get yourself ready for the race. Whether you’re riding or watching, Tomago Village can accommodate your stay for the event.
The annual performing arts extravaganza, Star Struck, is here again on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June, 2017. With a cast of over 3,500 primary school students, the stage spectacular is a professionally choreographed, self-funding production run by the Department of Education. Held at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre, nominations and auditions are now open, so visit Star Struck’s webpage for more details.
